Itasca, Ill.-based insurance broker Arthur J. Gallagher &Co. said it has acquired S. P. Tarantino Insurance Brokerage Inc.of San Francisco.

|Founded in 1979, Tarantino is a full- service retail insurancebroker offering risk management and commercial property-casualtyinsurance services to a wide range of clients. The nine-person firmalso specializes in insurance programs for the restaurant,hospitality, manufacturing, trucking and property-ownerindustries.
|Salvatore Tarantino, chairman, Donald Tarantino, president, andtheir team will continue to operate as Gallagher-Tarantino at theircurrent location, the company said.
