Insurers and self-insured organizations are reducing the time torecover subrogation claims through a new Web-based service,according to a nonprofit service provider.

The recently introduced Online Filing Program offered byArbitration Forums Inc. (AF), the nation's largest nonprofitprovider of interinsurance dispute resolution services, said it hascut subrogation processing time by 15 percent.

On the horizon is AF's E-Subro Hub, which will further reducerecovery cycle times by bringing the intercompany subrogationdemand process to a Web-based environment.

Online Filing allows users to electronically file arbitrationapplications and responses, withdraw cases, and notify AF of anysettled cases, AF said. Participants also receive immediate e-mailnotification when the status on a case changes, such as when ahearing date is re-scheduled, an amendment has been made, or adecision has been posted.

Since its inception in late 2004, Online Filing has seenconsiderable growth. More than 70 percent of all arbitration casesare now being filed using the service, and that number continues toclimb, according to AF.

Online Filing is available for all disputes involving auto,property, medical payment, personal injury protection, uninsuredmotorists' coverage, third-party liability, workers' compensation,and disputes involving concurrent, overlapping or excess/primarycoverage.

Founded in 1943, AF has a membership of more than 3,800 insurersand self-insureds nationwide.
