Business futurist Edie Weiner and the election of officers andboard directors will highlight the annual business meeting of theIndependent Insurance Agents & Brokers of New York, Inc.

Sharon Emek, a managing director of CBS coverage group inManhattan, N.Y., is expected to be elected and installed asIIABNY's 2006-2007 chairwoman of the board.

Ms. Weiner's address and Ms. Emek's election will be featuredduring an association luncheon to be held on Friday in New YorkCity.

The day will also feature a panel discussion to be moderated byMs. Weiner with the president-elect of the Independent InsuranceAgents & Brokers of America, three insurance executives and aninsurance consultant discussing such topics as technology,globalization and property-casualty insurance

Alex Soto, president-elect of the IIABA and president ofMiami-based InSource, will speak on "Driving Forces-A LookAhead."

Other panelists will include Frederick H. Eppinger, presidentand chief executive officer of the Hanover Insurance Group; StephenW. Lilienthal, chairman and CEO of CNA Insurance; Thomas F.Motamed, vice chairman and chief operating officer of The ChubbCorporation; and Stephen Anderson, president, Anderson Network,Inc., a consulting and insurance information technology firm.
