CDS Business Mapping, LLC–an online provider of property riskmapping data–said it has added additional states to its bank offire station information, bringing the total to 41.
|The Boston-based company said it now includes Arkansas,Kentucky, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Utah in the RiskMeterOnline Distance to Fire Station Report (www.RiskMeter.com) andcovers every state east of the Mississippi.
|CDS said the RiskMeter report uses routing technology todetermine the distance to the three closest fire stations to aproperty being evaluated.
|By typing in an address, CDS said RiskMeter Online users can geta detailed report in seconds that returns drive distance toresponding fire stations, names of the stations and staffing.
|“Regardless of the training, personnel or equipment at astation, if an insured location is greater than 5 miles from astation, the chance of a large loss is inevitable,” explained JamesMunson, CDS Business Mapping director of consulting services.
|Mr. Munson said the report will immediately verify the distancefrom responding fire stations, and help carriers decide early inthe underwriting process whether a location is protected ornot.
