Chubb System's Electronic Applications No Longer “Wet”

Applications for professional and management liability insuranceproducts from the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies now can besubmitted entirely online with an electronic signature. Previously,the carrier's eApplications required a so-called wet signaturebefore a policy could be bound.

“The launch of our new electronic signature capability isanother step in making it even easier to do business with Chubb,”says Judy Cook, vice president, Chubb & Son, and e-businessmanager, Chubb Specialty Insurance. “We've eliminated the need tosend a signed hard copy of the application through the mail.”

The Chubb policy application process for these productscurrently is completely electronic, Cook explains. “This will helpspeed up the application process for our customers, agents, andbrokers,” she says.

The Chubb eApplications are available at the carrier's Web site,www.chubb.com. The eApplications program is available for 10professional and management liability products. Six additionalprofessional and management liability products will be added inApril 2006.

No password or user ID is required to access the electronicapplications, which can be completed and saved on an agent's,broker's, or customer's desktop and e-mailed to Chubb for a quote,according to Cook.

Strengthening Chubb's electronic capabilities is a top priority,indicates Kathleen Tierney, senior vice president, Chubb & Son,and director of strategic marketing, Chubb Specialty Insurance.“The introduction of electronic signatures is the direct result offeedback from our agents, brokers, and customers,” she says. “We'vedelivered on our promise and remain committed to building furtherenhancements that will streamline the business process.”
