The Big “I” National Young Agents Committee (YAC) will add asecond meeting for its members this year. In addition to its annualgathering in Washington, D.C. it will convene in New Orleans aswell.

The Washington, D.C. conference will be held in conjunction withthe Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America'sNational Legislative Conference.

At the Legislative Conference independent agents have theopportunity to meet with their elective representatives and discussinsurance issues that most concern them today. The YAC and IIABAWashington events will run April 23-29.

As in the past, the YAC will host seminars geared specificallyto young agents, including a first-timers reception, the YoungAgent Attendee & InsurPac Chairs Luncheon, two hospitalityevents and the President's Panel Breakfast with IIABAleadership.

The YAC committee is offering two $300 scholarships to eachstate to assist young agents who have not previously participatedin the National Legislative Conference to attend the event.

At YAC's Sept. 8-10 New Orleans meeting the group will present aYoung Agent Leadership Institute session at the Hilton New OrleansRiverside.

The YAC said the event will feature two distinct tracks forleadership development. One will be for attendees aimed atrevitalizing young agents programs and the other for those withestablished programs.

|

Those who attend can participate in training sessions on topicssuch as membership development, communications, projects/events andpolitical involvement.

|

IIABA said the sessions will provide insight into the latesttechnology trends and present the opportunity to network with peersand IIABA leaders to develop new ideas about agency management andpersonal development.
