Fiserv Insurance Solutions has launched version 1.10 of its Policy STAR policy administration system. Improvements include the addition of support for boiler/machinery, commercial output, and dwelling fire lines of business. Policy STAR offers processing support for 14 lines of personal and commercial business. The system's architecture is based on open service-oriented architecture principles and is Web based and platform independent, providing scalability for property/casualty carriers of all sizes. Policy STAR includes a suite of Web services, enabling carriers to extend the policy administration system and tie large business processes together more easily.

In addition to the three new business lines, the new version includes forms maintenance, the ability to move configurations from a test environment into production>, and an audit function for both personal and commercial lines of business.

Written in Java to the J2EE specification, this suite of solutions is designed to increase operational flexibility while driving down the cost of operations.
