Claims News Service, Oct. 13, 8:51 a.m. EDT -- The AmericanInstitute for CPCU and Insurance Institute of America announce anextension of certain 2005 exams. The Institutes understand that the2005 hurricane season has placed a significant burden on theinsurance industry and on many of our students who are eithervictims of or are responding to the devastating storms. To helpease the burden many students are feeling, the Institutes willallow those affected to reschedule some 2005 exams for the January15 - March 15, 2006 window.

Eligible Courses: Study Materials for 2006 ExamsIn September,the Institutes announced significant changes to these programs andthe release of newly published study materials for these courses.Normally, new exams covering information in new study materialswould start with the January 15 - March 15, 2006 testing window.Under the provisions of this extension, the Institutes willcontinue to offer 2005 exams for the courses listed below in theJanuary 15 - March 15, 2006 testing window. Students will not needto purchase new study materials, provided that they take theirexams in the first testing window of 2006.

Eligibility and Registration

|

Any student affected by hurricane related business, delays, orcomplications is eligible.

|

Students should be registered for or planning to register forthe October - December 2005 testing window.

|

Students will be limited to a one time transfer / registrationto the January - March 2006 window only.

|

Students will be permitted to transfer at no charge* providedthat all currently scheduled Prometric exam appointments arecanceled at least three (3) days before the appointment date.

|

Students who do not cancel with Prometric will be charged a $75fee.

|

Students testing at on-site centers will not incur anyexpense*.

|

* Note: 2006 exam fees will apply.

Transfer / Registration ProcessEligible students who wish totake advantage of this extension must call the Institutes' customerservice department at (800) 644-2101 or e-mail [email protected] toregister for these extended exams.

Online registration is not available.

|

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Register for your exam extension and schedule an examappointment as early as possible.

|

You will have more options for your preferred testing dates ifyou register and make your appointment with Prometric by January15, 2006.

We will accept transfers / registrations as late as February 15,2006.
