The Public Risk Management Association said it will stage twovirtual seminars, one dealing with park safety risks and anotherwith disaster response.

"Managing Risk in Parks and Recreation Entities: Issues andSolutions,"
is scheduled for Oct. 26, 2:30 p.m. EDT, PRIMA said.

The seminar, to be given by Doug Wyseman, a risk and recreationspecialist, will focus on risk management and liability issuesassociated with public parks and recreation facilities.

PRIMA said the session is designed to help public entitiesidentify emerging issues and outline responsibilities public-sectorrecreation employees are charged with in assuring the public'ssafety and well-being.

The group said the second virtual seminar--"Responding toDisasters: Experiences in Hurricane Recovery from Florida"--will beheld Nov. 1, 1:00 p.m.-2:30 p.m. EST.

This seminar features Wayne Teegardin, risk manager, St. Lucie,Fla. County Board of County Commissioners, who will share hisexperience with the impact of major disasters on small governmententities as well as response and recovery efforts.

Mr. Teegardin serves in an Army Reserve Civil Affairs unit andhas responded to natural disasters and civic disturbancesworldwide, PRIMA said.
