MS/B Debuts Hazard Software

NU Online News Service, Feb. 23, 2:59 p.m.EST?Marshall and Swift/Boeckh (MS/B), a provider ofbuilding cost data and estimating technology for the propertyinsurance industry, has announced the release of Hazard Express,"an online, interactive application that integrates hazard datafrom various third-party sources into one location for quick, easyaccess."[@@]

The information is processed through the company's ExpressInternet platform, giving users immediate access to hazard data,said Los Angeles-based MS/B). "Users are able to more strategicallyunderwrite business that has potential hazard risk, allowing moreaccurate risk selection and premium charges."

The company added that customers receive reports from batchprocessing. The hazard data, which MS/B supplies to match carriers'underwriting guidelines, includes: brushfire for eight Westernstates, including California; earthquake fault lines; distance tocoast; state wind pool eligibility; Florida sinkholes; slope andelevation; premium tax; and pension funds.
