Lloyd's Gives U.S. Brokers Awards

NU Online News Service, March 9, 3:52 p.m.EST?Lloyd's of London has honored Gary Cooney of McGriff,Seibels & Williams as U.S. Surplus Lines Broker of the Year andJohn Gilbert of Holborn Corporation as Reinsurance Broker of theYear.[@@]

The award recipients were chosen for their achievements withinthe U.S. industry and their contribution to the Lloyd's market.

Mr. Cooney is vice chairman of McGriff, Seibels & Williams,headquartered in Birmingham, Ala. He was instrumental in creatingMcGriff's Energy and Marine Division.

Mr. Gilbert is president of Holborn, based in New York, aposition that he has held since 1973.

|

Lloyd's established the U.S. Broker awards in 2002 to highlightthe role brokers play in Lloyd's success in the U.S. insurance andreinsurance markets.
