Royal & SunAlliance Names Culmer CFO

|Mr. Culmer will start his new role at Royal & Sun in aboutthree months when Mr. Hance, is scheduled to leave the CFO post.The London-based insurance giant also said Mr. Culmer will become amain board director of Royal & Sun Alliance as well.

|He said Mr. Culmer will have the "standard responsibilities of achief financial officer of a quoted company--financial management,capital management and other duties of a CFO."
|Mr. Culmer, 41, is currently working as head of capitalmanagement at Zurich Financial Services, based in Zurich,Switzerland. He worked previously as chief financial officer atZurich's U.K. operations. Prior to joining Zurich in 2000, he hadserved at Prudential Financial Inc. of Newark, N.J.
