Miller Named CAS President

Stephen P. D'Arcy, professor of finance, University of Illinoisat Urbana-Champaign, was named president-elect.

Ms. Miller joined Select Actuarial Services in 1999 afterserving as chief actuary for Sedgwick Insurance Brokers. She beganher insurance career with American States Insurance Companies.

Mr. D'Arcy joined the faculty at the University of Illinois in1981. Prior to his current position, he was the actuary at CUMISInsurance Society and an actuarial student at Aetna InsuranceCompany. He is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society and hasserved on the CAS board of directors and as chairman of both theCAS Long Range Planning Committee and the Task Force on Educationand Testing. Mr. D'Arcy served as president of the American Riskand Insurance Association 1998-1999.
