St. Paul Expands Small Market Office

NU Online News Service, Oct. 28, 12:09 p.m.EST?The St. Paul Companies, based in St. Paul, Minn., has opened acommercial service center for its small business customers andinsurance agents in the Western region of the United States.

The service center is located in Colorado Springs, Colo., andfollows the 2002 opening of the company's Atlanta service center.The new center will provide expanded hours of operation and serviceto respond to agent and customer requests.

The carrier said the opening is part of its continued expansioninto the small business insurance marketplace.

"Our agents and brokers told us they want to work with a carrierthat can help them write small business accounts quickly, easilyand profitably, and we've delivered," said Marc Schmittlein,president of small commercial. "Time is money for our agents andbrokers, and our service centers take much of the burden of smallbusiness insurance account maintenance off the shoulders of ourdistributors so they can focus on growing their business."
