Allstate Independent Agent Head To Retire

NU Online News Service, Oct. 24, 11:12 a.m.EDT?Ernest Lausier, 58, president of Allstate Ivantage Group, thecompany's independent agent distribution channel, will retire atthe end of the year, the company said.

A spokesman for the Northbrook, Ill.-based insurer said Mr.Lausier would retire on Dec. 31 after leading the division that wasonce CNA Personal Lines through the transition with Allstate.

Ivantage, which covers the Encompass Insurance and DeerbrookInsurance Company brand names, will continue operating throughindependent agent channels, said Michael Trevino, companyspokesman. The division will be lead by Doug Wendt, currently vicepresident for Allstate Midwest region office.

Mr. Lausier joined Allstate in 1999 after the company acquiredthe business from Chicago-based CNA. He was named president of CNAPersonal Lines in 1997.

He joined CNA as a management trainee in 1969.
