PIA Names Adams President-Elect

NU Online News Service, April 14, 3:41 p.m.EDT? The National Association of Professional InsuranceAgents said its board has picked Terry R. Adams as itspresident-elect for the 2003-2004 term.

The board, meeting in Arlington, Va., also elected two others toleadership posts.

Elected to the one-year term posts were:

? Mr. Adams of PIA of Oregon & Idaho. He currently serves assecretary-treasurer of PIA National.

? Ray L. Peretti of PIA of Washington & Alaska was electedvice president.

? Donna L. Pile of PIA of Kentucky was electedsecretary-treasurer.

PIA said all the new officers will be sworn to office Sept. 7,during a board meeting in Milwaukee, Wis., and begin serving theirterms Oct. 1.

The Alexandria, Va.-based association also announced thatElizabeth B. "Liz" Luce, of Cheyenne, Wyo., was named Person of theYear for 2002 by the Professional Insurance Agents Political ActionCommittee. She was honored for her outstanding service to thepolitical action committee.

Ms. Luce is president and owner of the Rocky Mountain CapitalAgency of Cheyenne, Wyo. In addition to her PIAPAC involvement, sheserves on the PIA National Board of Directors representing Wyomingand is president of the Board of Directors of PIA Services Inc.

After meeting with the National Association of InsuranceCommissioners President Mike Pickens, the PIA National Board ofDirectors unanimously adopted a resolution reaffirming PIA'ssupport of a major NAIC initiative to support continued stateregulation of insurance.

An April 6 resolution reaffirmed PIA's support of ASSURE, theAlliance for Sound State Uniform Regulatory Efficiency.
