VCIA To Offer Chicago Seminar

The decision to form a captive insurance company is anindividualized process that reflects the unique needs and interestsof each association, corporation or group, said the Burlington,Vt.-based VCIA. Seminar representatives from two different types ofcaptives will share their experiences.

The discussion, titled "Understanding the Strategic Advantagesof Captives, Regardless of Market Conditions," will present casestudies describing a variety of captive formations.

|

Presenters will also describe the captive climate and regulatoryrequirements in Vermont, the largest U.S. domicile, according toVCIA.

|

The moderator is Brian C. Donovan, president of Steel TankInsurance Company, A Risk Retention Group.

|

Panelists are Leonard Crouse director of captive insurance,Vermont Department of Banking, Insurance, Securities and HealthCare Administration; Paul Knapp, president, Vermont WesternAssurance (DST Systems); and Michael Bemi, president and chiefexecutive officer of The National Catholic RRG.
