ISO Upgrades All-Claims Fraud Database

NU Online News Service, Aug. 6, 10:15 a.m.EST?Insurance Services Office Inc. announced it hasexpanded the ISO ClaimSearch antifraud system to provide increasedaccess to its criminal and civil records searches.

The Jersey City, N.J.-based ISO said the enhancement of itsClaimSearch service includes direct access through its Web site tofederal, state and county criminal and civil records searchescountrywide, as well as the Sheriffs' National Data System andother exclusive online sources. Additionally, users have off-lineaccess to single-county criminal and civil record searches.

"Access to criminal and civil records searches is a significantaddition to the ISO ClaimSearch tools for claims andinvestigations," said Richard P. Boehning, ISO senior vicepresident. "Customers who subscribe to the public records portionof ISO ClaimSearch have been interested in and looking forward toaccess to criminal records. We're pleased to deliver extensive andbroad searches?at very competitive prices."

ISO said it is providing the searches in partnership withIntellicorp, Ltd., of Solon, Ohio, an employment screening andrisk-assessment information company. The company maintains theSheriffs' National Data system and offers instant access to manyother original sources of crime information.

Subscribers, the company said, can search for county criminalcourt records, arrest and booking records, inmate and convictionrecords, county civil court records, statewide criminal records ina large majority of the 50 states, as well as federal civil andcriminal records.

Intellicorp criminal records searches are the latest inthird-party data accessible through ISO ClaimSearch. Informationfrom more than 250 public records sources is also available,including consumer records, business records, telephone listings,ZIP+4 listings, and vehicle identification listings.

ISO said it also recently expanded the ISO ClaimSearch system toinclude an auto physical damage database, containing 129-milliondetailed claims records.
