New Claim Estimating Tool Web Course

NU Online News Service, June 7, 12:01 p.m.EST?A Wisconsin firm said it is offering what it describesas the first fully interactive, Web-based training applicationteaching adjusters how to use property claims estimatingtechnology.

Marshall and Swift/Boeckh of New Berlin, Wis., a provider ofbuilding cost data and estimating technology for theproperty-casualty insurance industry, said the new service iscalled IntegriClaim Web-Based Training.

MS/B said the Web-based application gives claims professionalsan alternative to classroom training programs that take time awayfrom the field.

MS/B training product developers Lucretia Payne and Eric Arnold,who spearheaded this new project, also announced that MS/B willbuild on this program with a series of Internet training coursescovering a wide range of services for the insurance industry.

Bob Crine, president of MS/B, said, "We have finally solved theinherent difficulties in group seminar-type training for propertyclaims systems. Our Web-based courses allow users to enter thecurriculum at their appropriate levels, progress at their ownschedules, receive feedback and remediation based on their uniquesituations, deal with user volume spikes more seamlessly than everbefore, and save the time and cost of travel, classroom time, etcetera."

The company said IntegriClaim Web-Based Training allowsround-the-clock access so users can self-direct their own trainingschedules.

MS/B said the program offers a fully interactive design thatactually simulates the IntegriClaim estimating software, voice-overand text instructions to accommodate different learning styles,pre- and post-tests, and six months of unlimited access.

Individual users and their managers can measure and tracktraining performance to assure that each participant is makingsatisfactory progress in skill attainment. Pre-tests assess userneeds and lesson plans, and post-tests assess competency aftercompletion of each lesson.

Users have access to the course for up to six months and mustpass the final exam to pass the course. MS/B certifies students whopass the course as competent users of IntegriClaim, the industry'sleading claims estimating system.

The course consists of 22 lessons of approximately fifteenminutes each. Users must download a free 3.030K MacromediaAuthorware plug-in, which can be accessed from the IntegriClaimWeb-Based Training log-in page. Sound cards and speakers arerecommended, but not required.

MS/B provides unique, comprehensive support for IntegriClaimWeb-Based Training with technical support from MS/B's team ofprofessional technical support staff, and also offers live chatcapability with an experienced IntegriClaim Estimator trainer.

A spokesperson for the company said there is a sliding scale ofprice based on the number of employees at a firm. For individualusers the cost is under $500.
