Ruth Goodwin Picked As CSR Of The Year
NU Online News Service, Aug. 1, 10:16 a.m. EST-A key industry awardfor insurance customer service representation has gone to Ruth E.Goodwin of the Davis Insurance Agency in Ludlow, Vt.
Ms. Goodwin, it was announced today, has been selected as thewinner of the "2001 National Outstanding CSR of the Year Award" bythe Austin, Texas-based Society of Certified Insurance ServiceRepresentatives and the Society of Certified InsuranceCounselors.
|Ms. Goodwin, who receives $1,000 and a gold and diamond lapelpin with the award, was selected from a field of 36 state winners.Her employer receives a scholarship.
|A four-judge blue-ribbon panel that included NationalUnderwriter Editor-In-Chief Sam Friedman picked Ms. Goodwin from agroup of five finalists.
|Award candidates were judged on their individual contributionsto the insurance community and their essays on the topic, "MyGreatest Accomplishment as a CSR."
|Ms. Goodwin is a commercial lines CSR and claims coordinator whohas been in the insurance business nearly 20 years. She earned aCertified Insurance Service Representative designation in 1991.
|Ms. Goodwin is Vermont membership chair for the NationalAssociation of Insurance Women and a past chapter president.William T. Hold, the Society of CISR's chief executive officer,said Ms. Goodwin showed excellent communication skills andwillingness to go the extra mile for a client.
