The insurance industry continues to be among the biggest businesses in the world, despite a myriad of headwinds.
The sector grew by more than 8% in 2024, according to Allianz SE, and has a projected 2025 value of $8.21 trillion.
The data and analytics firm GlobalData recently crunched the numbers to determine which carriers dominate the industry worldwide. Researchers deducted that: "Insurance companies continued to demonstrate robust momentum in 2024, largely fueled by a higher interest rate environment and significant investment gains resulting from favorable developments in equity markets. This was further supported by the ongoing digital transformation initiatives, strategic expansion into under-penetrated markets, and effective vertical integration strategies."
