Over half of U.S. consumers plan to travel more in 2025 than they did in 2024, according to a report by IPX.
The average travel budget for Americans in 2025 is $10,244, the data showed, which is nearly double the average budget in 2024 at $5,300. Nearly two in three Americans plan to use points or travel rewards to help cover travel costs.
“More than a quarter will take seven-day vacations, 21% will be going away for less than a week, 35% will be gone for 10 to 21 days, and 17% will travel for more than a month.,” IPX said in the report. “Beginning May 7, 2025, every U.S. resident will need to present a REAL ID compliant license or other acceptable form of identification to board commercial airplanes. Currently, 24% of Americans report not having a REAL ID, and among them, 64% do not know what it is or do not plan to get one before the May 7, deadline.”
The top reasons for taking longer trips include making up for missed travel in previous years, more vacation time and a desire for an immersive travel experience, according to IPX.
