Some property and business owners are drawn to affluent neighborhoods because such communities boast ample services, luxe architecture, well-funded schools and the reputation of being safe, clean places to live and raise a family. The more high-end the neighborhood, however, the less likely it may be to feature diverse inhabitants or relatively affordable goods and services including homeowners or business owner's insurance. Once again, PropertyShark has ranked U.S. ZIP codes based on medium home prices to uncover the most expensive bergs in the country. The slideshow above illustrates this year's results. Among the takeaways from PropertyShark's 2022 research:
- 14 ZIP codes in the U.S. have median home prices that exceed $4 million.
- Atherton, Calif. has the most expensive ZIP code for the sixth consecutive year.
- Los Angeles County remains the country's priciest with 21 ZIP codes on the list.
