Once again, PropertyShark has ranked U.S. ZIP codes based on medium home prices to uncover the most expensive bergs in the country. The slideshow above illustrates this year's results. Among the takeaways from PropertyShark's 2022 research:
  • 14 ZIP codes in the U.S. have median home prices that exceed $4 million.
  • Atherton, Calif. has the most expensive ZIP code for the sixth consecutive year.
  • Los Angeles County remains the country's priciest with 21 ZIP codes on the list.
Why should insurance agents, brokers and executives take note of the financials related to the ZIP codes where policyholders and prospects reside? Because insured-property ZIP codes are one of the factors underwriters consider when quoting the premium for a given policy.
