Despite a reduction in miles driven during the past year, motorists exhibited increasingly risky behaviors, much to the dismay of their auto insurers. The misconduct ranged from distracted driving and speeding to increasing instances of DUIs. As commuters return and overall traffic increases, the bad habits picked up during the past year haven't subsided, and new driving patterns emerge. To get a better understanding of where drivers are more likely to get into an accident, Insurify crunched the numbers and examined the cities with the highest percentage of drivers with one or more at-fault auto accidents. On a regional basis, the results were largely static, with each hovering around the nationwide average of 12.40%. However, a more granular look reveals big differences from city to city. A number of California locales made this top 10 list. Unsurprisingly, California was not among the best states for drivers. In fact, it was ranked the worst. However, when looking at the top 20 locales for auto accidents, South Carolina takes the top prize with seven cities on the list. The above slideshow highlights the top 10 cities with the most auto accidents, according to a ranking by Insurify, which noted the locations on the list have at least 40% more accident-prone drivers than the national average.
