The board of directors of Liberty Mutual Insurance appointed Edward Peña senior vice president and treasurer. Peña joined Liberty Mutual in 2017 as vice president and director of investor relations. Xavier Florit has been appointed regional head of corporate, accident and health (A&H) for Continental Europe at Chubb. He joined Chubb in 2016 and was previously head of A&H for France. Aspen Insurance Holdings Limited appointed Richard Milner senior managing director, Aspen Re International. He was most recently CEO at VIBE Re. Aspen also appointed Crystal Ottaviano group chief risk officer, effective March 2, 2020. Ottaviano joins Aspen from Swiss Re America, where she has served as chief risk officer since October 2013. Seth Word has been appointed principal and head of agribusiness at Newfront Insurance. Prior to joining Newfront, Word founded and led Cultivate Insurance Services. Everest Insurance announced the addition of four new underwriters within its E&S casualty excess group:

Mark Friedlander and Kris Maccini have been appointed to senior communication positions at the Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I). Before coming to the Triple-I, Friedlander was a communications consultant at the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety. Maccini most recently served for more than three years as global director, social strategy at MetLife. The global law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner announced the addition of a three-partner group of highly regarded transactional and regulatory insurance lawyers. The group includes the global co-leader of Dentons' Insurance Sector practice, Bruce Baty and Jodi Adolf, as well as Kelly Sullivan, an insurance transactional and regulatory partner from Polsinelli. CNA announced that the company's Executive Vice President & Chief Actuary Larry Haefner will retire, effective Dec. 31, 2020. His decision to retire brings to a close a notable 40-year insurance career. Marc Sullivan has been appointed class underwriter, downstream energy at International General Insurance Holdings Limited. He joins from Barbican Insurance Group, where he worked as class underwriter for downstream energy. The Texas Windstorm Insurance Association's board of directors elected Chandra Franklin-Womack, first tier coastal representative, as chair and Georgia Neblett, first tier coastal representative, as vice chair; Corise Morrison, insurance industry representative, will continue to serve as secretary-treasurer. The board updated the membership of the legislative & external affairs committee of the board in preparation for the development of the Association's biennial report to the legislature. Huhnsik Chung has been hired as a shareholder at Carlton Fields and will serve as co-chair of Carlton Fields's fintech and property and casualty insurance regulatory and transactional practice group.
