A company's success is often attributed to a multitude of factors. Many are divided over whether the praise belongs to the employer or the employees.
Regardless of one's beliefs, which company can claim to be America's best employer? Forbes' worked with research firm Statista in search of an answer.
Statista began by surveying more than 30,000 employees in total from both large and midsize companies. The most weighted question asked of survey respondents was whether they would recommend their own company to others, on a scale of zero to 10.
Employers ranked by employees
Employees were also asked to rate their employers on various work factors, like pay, diversity or avenues to advancement — though these results did not affect the overall score, they were a way to gauge what a given company was doing right or wrong in gaining employee approval.
Forbes' list of the 300 best midsize employers — that is, companies with between 1,000 and 5,000 workers — was organized into 25 industries, including insurance. Here are the 9 property & casualty insurers that made the list along with their rankings:
