The California Department of Workers' Compensation has approved a request from Harbor Health Systems, a One Call Care Management company, to offer telemedicine through its medical provider networks (MPNs). "We can now offer the capability to patients and to payers to search the Harborsys MPN provider directory and find high performing physicians who offer telemedicine, or to be directed to these physicians by our Medical Access Assistant staff," Linda Lane, president of Harbor Health Systems, said in a press release. Harbor Health is among the first companies in California to receive state approval to provide this type of service. "The telemedicine capability and the ability to find physicians who offer this service is especially important in rural areas, as well as to make care immediately accessible twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year."
LexisNexis Risk Solutions, the provider of data and analytics in insurance telematics, and TrueMotion, the maker of smartphone usage-based insurance (UBI) technology, recently teamed up to provide insurers greater flexibility and consumer-focused UBI programs.
