It's difficult to throw away a comfortable pair of jeans or a favorite sweatshirt. We grow attached to things and they become part of our identity. But sometimes we have to move on.
Tech-Decisions.com is now officially in that "moving on" stage.
Beginning Monday, Jan. 10, all the content that you normally find at the Tech Decisions Web site will now be found--with a whole lot more--at our new online home. For the next few weeks the Tech Decisions Web site will remain open for business, but all of our content will also be populating the Technology channel of PropertyCasualty360.com. You are invited to go to the new Web site and check out the soft launch of the site.
The portal connects all the publications and Web sites that make up the Property Casualty Group of our parent company, Summit Business Media. It will be an all-inclusive source for P&C news, analysis, trends, and industry activity. It will enable professionals at all levels of the industry to understand and react to the market challenges they face.
In addition to the tech news and trends you've come to expect from us, you will receive information on the claims segment of the P&C industry from the editors of Claims magazine. You'll find information on the agency and brokerage channel from the editors of American Agent & Broker. You'll get information on what is happening in the always volatile Florida market from the editors of Florida Underwriter. And of course you will find out just about everything you need to know about insurance from the editors of National Underwriter P&C.
Before we go any further, this refers to the Tech Decisions online presence only. Tech Decisions magazine is not going away. The publishing industry is changing--there's no argument there--but our readers have continually spoken of their desire for a print publication and we are not going to abandon that channel.
But just as technology has drastically changed insurance over the last decade, the news and information channels have changed for publications such as ours thanks to the Internet.
Our first Web site offered nothing more than the current issue of our monthly magazine. You got your insurance technology information every four weeks and that was it.
We've steadily grown into an online news and information source over the years. Our Web site has even been a precursor to the new PropertyCasualty360.com portal in that we have taken advantage of the strong industry knowledge from our National Underwriter P&C sister publication with industry news sections on our Web site and in our weekly e-newsletter devoted to industry news beyond the IT department.
We've continually written over the last five years about the importance of getting IT people to understand the entire business operation and now we are following through with it in the form of PropertyCasualty360.com. All your industry news--including the technology news you've come to expect--will be there.
