Real Time Day Activities Wrapped Around Education

Some thirty-plus presentations are scheduled for the industry-wide Real Time Day, Wednesday, Feb. 29. The day, spearheaded by the Real Time/Download Campaign, coincides with Leap Day, and will offer agents, brokers, carriers, vendors and others practical guidance on how modern workflows can help drive business and profits growth.

An opening session, featuring agency principal Stu Durland, co-chair of the Real Time/Download Campaign, which organized and promoted the day, will offer an introduction to efficient workflows and set the stage for the rest of the day.

Durland will broadcast live from the ACORD studios inPearl River,NY. Other live sessions will address agency, carrier and vendor issues, along with a review of findings from the recent Agency Real Time Survey of more than 3,100 agents and brokers.

Presentations will take place throughout the day both from the studio and in webinars hosted by the campaign, carriers, vendors, users groups and others across the country. In addition to many sessions focused on agents and brokers, a noon webinar, led by agent Cyndy Smith, of Haylor Freyer Coon, and EMC Insurance Companies' Teresa Addy, will focus on carrier and vendor implementations.

More than a dozen agency-focused sessions—most broadcast live—will be put on by technology vendors, including AgentDirectExpress & RealTimeExpress, Applied Systems, SEMCAT and Vertafore, which will co-host sessions with its users group, NetVU. These webinars will explain how agents and brokers can make better use of technology available within their systems to grow their business and boost efficiency.

Carriers can learn from these sessions how technology can help the agents that represent them. Insurance companies can also tune in to webinars hosted by NxTech and IVANS that will help them understand how to align their systems with the needs of agents and brokers.

A number of carriers, including Cincinnati Financial, CNA, EMC Insurance Companies, Harleysville Group, Progressive, Selective Insurance and Westfield Insurance, will also host webinars during Real Time Day. At these sessions, insurance companies will explain how their technology works with management systems to deliver better agency-carrier interface.

Sessions hosted by agency management systems users groups ASCnet, NASPA, NetVU and NUDGMI will help member agencies and brokerages learn how to get the most from their systems, as they work to increase revenue, profits and customer service functionality and, at the same time, reduce operating costs and workflow inefficiencies.
