Claims Professional of the Year Joins Mariposa

Bob Khosropur Named Senior Vice President

Bob Khosropur has joined Mariposa Insurance Services as senior vice president of operations, where he will be responsible for sales, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, accounting, and logistics.

“Bob brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge and experience, and we know that he will be a great addition to our team, helping us achieve our operational, reputational and growth goals,” says David Swank, senior partner at Mariposa, an independent adjusting firm that manages policyholder claims.

Prior to joining the company, Khosropur served as chief claims officer at Narragansett Bay Insurance, a northeast regional insurance company that grew from $12 million to $120 million during his tenure. At Narragansett Bay, Khosropur was responsible for building a homeowners claims department capable of daily and catastrophe response for customers. He also oversaw the company’s Shelterpride field underwriting arm that appraises the interior and exterior of homes for value, risk management/mitigation, and predictive modeling data.

Khosropur has more than 25 years of claims operations and strategy experience including 19 years with Allstate Insurance in a variety of roles, starting as an adjuster to the district claims manager, and completing with four years as a national manager of strategic sourcing for the claims department. His extensive claims operations experience includes catastrophe management involving Hurricane Andrew, the Northridge Earthquake, and multiple wind, hail, flood and freeze catastrophes. Khosropur also served as the first vice president of claims for Privilege Underwriters (PURE), where he led the build-out of the claims department for the start-up carrier based in White Plains, N.Y.

Khosropur holds a Six Sigma Black Belt in business defect analysis and improvement, and this past year he received National Underwriter’s Claims Magazine “Claims Professional of the Year” award at the 15th Annual America’s Claims Event (ACE) in New Orleans.

Recognizing Khosropur’s ingenuity and dedication to enhancing claims services, Christina Bramlet, ACE chairperson and editor of Claims Magazine, said, “During a career spanning more than 20 years, he has embodied the attributes fitting of this distinction, having instituted ‘best’ practices and systematic changes to propel his organization to excellence.”

Khosropur holds a bachelor's degree in science from Goddard College in Vermont.
