Petersmark Takes CIO Skills to Consultancy

X by 2, a technology consultancy that specializes in enterprise and application architecture for insurance companies, has named Frank Petersmark CIO advocate.  Formerly CIO and vice president of information technology at Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company, Petersmark has 30 years of insurance industry experience as an information technology professional and executive.

Petersmark will serve as a liaison between X by 2 and CIOs at current and prospective clients, discussing their challenges and serving as a sounding board and advisor as they navigate possible technology and business solutions.

“Frank has been in the CIO’s shoes and intimately knows all the technology, business and leadership issues they face,” said K. Ram Sundaram, senior principal at X by 2. “He’ll be a key public face for us as we continue to help our insurance clients realize their visions and aspirations in this highly competitive marketplace. We believe the timing is great for bringing Frank on board as 2011 will provide opportunities for our clients and for us to expand our respective businesses.”

Petersmark began his insurance career at Alexander Hamilton Life Insurance Company.  In 1998 he was named CIO and VP with Amerisure, where he built a track record for innovative solutions, execution and delivery.

Petersmark led Amerisure’s implementation of a completely virtualized desktop infrastructure.  CIO magazine named Amerisure a winner of its “2010 CIO 100 Award” for that project.

He also spearheaded Amerisure’s business process-management and enterprise project-management capabilities, and created an innovation center in the company to establish and foster creativity throughout the organization.
