The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc. announced it has given Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Liam E. McGee the additional title of company president.

"In his first three months on the job, we have been impressed with Liam's leadership of The Hartford," said Michael G. Morris, presiding director of the Hartford, Conn.-based insurer's board of directors.

"The additional title of president is in recognition of his work to date and our expectations of the future he and his team are building for The Hartford. As the company enters its third century, we are confident that The Hartford is on the right track toward profitable growth and delivering value to our shareholders," concluded Mr. Morris.

Mr. McGee replaced Ramani Ayer, who retired in October.
