Jacksonville-based Main Street America Group has finalized a deal that expands its reach further into Indiana. The super-regional property-casualty insurance carrier has closed on an affiliate agreement with Indiana-domiciled Grain Dealers Mutual Insurance Co. Main Street America entered the Midwest market last year when it acquired Great Lakes Casualty Insurance Co. of Michigan. Over the past 18 months, the carrier has expanded into Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas, and Utah. It now has operations in 22 states, with more than $800 million in premium written exclusively by independent insurance agents.
