The National Council on Compensation Insurance Inc. has received approval for two new Florida-only class codes related to the marine industry effective July 1. LIG Marine Managers of St. Petersburg worked with the Florida Marine Contractors Association to lobby and assist NCCI to create the new classification exclusive for marine construction.
The new codes and their initial rates are: 6006F Marine Pile Driving, Dock & Seawall, Jetty or Breakwater, Dike or Revetment Construction -- All Operations to Completion & Drivers -- $28.79; and 6004 Land Pile Driving -- $38.24.
Also effective July 1, two codes will be discontinued in Florida -- 6003 Pile Driving and 6005 Jetty or Breakwater Construction.
