Even with growing economic pressures, most Americans are confident they'll take a summer vacation this year.
According to the Allianz Global Travel Confidence Index, 70% of Americans and 74% of all travelers globally say they'll go on a summer vacation.
The study found that one in two travelers are planning to attend a live experience, like a concert or festival, during their vacation. Nearly half (45%) are planning to stay at a spa or a healthy retreat. And 36% say they're planning to take a cruise, riverboat or expedition voyage.
Work is part of many people's vacations. About one-third (32%) plan to extend a work trip for leisure purposes, and 32% plan to work remotely away from home for a short period.
Many travelers (77%) are concerned about rising travel costs, and 61% say they're reducing their non-essential spending to be able to afford travel. For those who aren't traveling, 63% say financial constraints are among their top three reasons.
Geopolitical instability is also top of mind: 72% of travelers say it's their top concern, with worries about personal safety, delays and health risks.
