RIMS, the risk management society, has announced that Pathways to Housing PA will be the beneficiary of the organization's annual service project at the 2026 RISKWORLD convention in Philadelphia.

The 2026 RISKWORLD Community Service Day Project is sponsored by ESIS, a Chubb company, and will welcome attendees to assemble hygiene kits for local residents who rely on Pathways to Housing PA's services.

"Building safer, more resilient communities is core to risk management and it is only fitting that RISKWORLD offers this wonderful opportunity for attendees to demonstrate that commitment by giving back to Philadelphia's most vulnerable," RIMS CEO Gary A. LaBranche, FASAE, CAE, AAiP, said in a release.  "Pathways to Housing PA does remarkable work providing critical support to those who need it most. RIMS is incredibly grateful to ESIS for sponsoring the RISKWORLD Community Service Project and allowing us to make a meaningful impact for our host community."

Pathways to Housing PA partnered with Philadelphia officials in 2008 to launch its first two teams to address chronic homelessness in the city. Today, the nonprofit houses more than 550 people in apartments throughout Philadelphia with a retention rate of 86%. In addition to its housing efforts, Pathways has also opened the Philadelphia Furniture Bank, integrated care clinics, the Pathways Housing Wellness Corporation to rebuild abandoned lots and structures, the Good Haul junk hauling enterprise and an alumni association that provides continued support for its beneficiaries.

"We are incredibly grateful to RISKWORLD for choosing Pathways to Housing PA to be part of the conference's 2026 Community Service Project initiative," Pathways to Housing PA's Vice President of Operations Valerie Johnson, MBA, CFRE, said in a release. "Our program participants have experienced chronic homelessness for years, and in some cases decades. Providing the essential hygiene items they need to take care of themselves is something we're thrilled to be able to do with support from the risk management community."

RIMS launched its annual community service project program in 2007 when, post-Hurricane Katrina, the organization worked to support local families and rebuild infrastructure destroyed in the storm.
