LAS VEGAS — PropertyCasualty360's 2026 Complex Claims and Litigation Forum kicked off on March 9 at the Red Rock Casino and Resort.

The conference where leaders from insurance and the law converge began with a keynote address from Insurance Information Institute (Triple-I) CEO Sean Kevelighan, who appeared remotely from his home in Florida after travel issues prevented the industry leader from making it to the event in person.

Kevelighan's speech addressed the insurance regulatory landscape, with a focus on legal system abuse, tort reform and claims costs.

"We've got a real problem in this country and what I call the big business of U.S. law, and it's impacting your world in terms of claims costs," Kevelighan said in his address. "And really, what we need to be focused on is finding ways to reform our legal system."

In the slideshow above, we'll examine six key takeaways from Kevelighan's keynote address.

The Complex Claims and Litigation Forum is ongoing through March 11.
