In 2024, the average U.S. homeowner shelled out around $2,400 per year on insurance coverage, which is no small chunk of change. With premiums creeping upward year after year, many insureds are shopping around for more budget-friendly coverage options.
Homeowners insurance rates vary greatly depending on a plethora of factors, including the carrier, where the home is located, the age of the home and whether the owner bundles their home and auto policies.
The states where Insurify found the cheapest rates for homeowners insurance (for $300,000 dwelling coverage) in 2025 are:

Cheapest monthly rate: $58 - Pennsylvania

Cheapest monthly rate: $58 - Utah
Cheapest company: Foremost
Cheapest monthly rate: $63 - Vermont
Cheapest company: Travelers
Cheapest monthly rate: $64
In Florida, which has some of the highest premiums in the country, the cheapest coverage was still $383 per month for $300,000 in dwelling coverage. Louisiana and Texas make up the remainder of the top-three most expensive states, with the cheapest monthly rates sitting at $218 and $212, respectively.
