Each year, Top Workplaces releases its ranking of the best places to work in the U.S. based solely on employee feedback. Its annual survey encourages employees to rate their employer based on metrics like engagement, values, communication, inclusion, training and fairness. For an organization to be considered for the list, it must have at least a 35% survey response rate from its employees.

Though there are a variety of companies that make the list each year, Top Workplaces notes that the things these organizations have in common is that they are “dedicated to people-first excellence, and they prioritize it day in and day out.”

The rankings for each industry are grouped based on the size of each workplace. Insurance companies that made Top Workplaces’ list of top financial services workplaces of 2025 with fewer than 1,000 employees include:

  • Newfront
  • James River Group
  • Bamboo Insurance
  • Slide Insurance
  • American Integrity Insurance Group
  • Charles L. Crane Agency Company

  • Brown & Brown
  • The Gray Insurance Company
  • TrueNorth Companies
  • Preferred Mutual Insurance
