
The RIMS Diversity Equity and Inclusion Chapter Leadership Award reinforces the organization's commitment to creating safe, inclusive and welcoming spaces for all risk professionals. The RIMS DEI Chapter Leadership Award was recently presented to RIMS Detroit Chapter for taking intentional and exceptional action to improve in this area. RIMS, the risk management society®, announced several awards during RISKWORLD® in Chicago:
- RIMS most prestigious honor, the Harry and Dorothy Goodell Award, was presented to Randy Nornes, Executive Vice President, Enterprise Client Partner at Aon. This honor pays tribute to an individual who has furthered the goals of the Society and the risk management discipline through outstanding service and achievement.
- RIMS Risk Manager of the Year and Risk Management Honor Roll aim to raise the profile of the risk management profession and the outstanding programs practitioners have implemented within their organizations. This year’s Risk Manager of the Year is Jennifer Pack, Vice President at Hyatt Hotels Corporation. RIMS Risk Management Honor Roll inducted Mark Saltsgaver, Vice President, Corporate Risk Management at Eli Lilly and Company.
- The Volunteer of the Year Award pays tribute to individuals for their outstanding performance in furthering risk management at the chapter level. This year’s Volunteer of the Year is Neil Colclough, Vice President, Risk Management at Sage Hospitality Group, President of RIMS Rocky Mountain Chapter, and Chair of RIMS Diversity Equity and Inclusion Advisory Council.
- The RIMS Rising Star Award honors up-and-coming risk management professionals under the age of 35 or who have seven or less years of professional experience in the industry. This year, Megan Smalter, Market Development Executive at Lloyds, was honored for demonstrating exceptional initiative, volunteerism, professional development, achievement and leadership potential.
- The Risk Management Hall of Fame was created to preserve the history and tradition of the profession. This year’s inductees into the Hall of Fame were innovators who dedicated their careers to advancing the profession. The 2025 inductees include Dr. Gert Cruywagen, Susan Meltzer and Bradley Wood.
- RIMS Chapter of the Year Award was presented to RIMS Greater Bluegrass Chapter for going above and beyond to deliver exceptional resources, programming and opportunities to local members in 2024. Accepting on behalf of the chapter was Greater Bluegrass Chapter President Erica Kiefer, Associate Manager, YUM! Brands, Inc.
- RIMS also honored RIMS Atlanta Chapter and RIMS Oregon Chapter for successfully aligning their programming with RIMS strategic priorities to innovate, develop, engage and advocate for the global risk management community.
- Finally, RIMS inducted "three legendary risk management professionals," Dr. Gert Cruywagen, Susan Meltzer, and Bradley Wood, into its Risk Management Hall of Fame (RMHF).
Applied Systems was recognized in multiple categories of the 23rd Annual American Business Awards®. Applied was named the winner of a Gold Stevie® Award for Company of the Year in the Large-Sized Insurance category. Epic Quotes Commercial Lines won a Silver Stevie® Award in the Insurance Solution category, and Applied Pay won a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Payments Solution category.

Companjon rolled out its flexible cancellation solution for Omio to the rest of the world. Omio Flex was developed in partnership with the multi-modal travel booking platform, bringing ultimate flexibility to travel plans. From now on, Omio customers globally can cancel their train and bus journeys for any reason up to 15 minutes before departure.
ATI Restoration earned top honors by winning both of the Restoration Industry Association’s 2025 Phoenix Awards — one for Innovation in Restoration and the other for Innovation in Reconstruction. ATI is the first contractor to win both awards in a single year since the Phoenix Awards' inception in 1997, underscoring its leadership across both restoration and reconstruction.

Clearwater Analytics acquired Beacon Platform Inc., a provider of enterprise risk analytics and developer infrastructure. The acquisition strengthens Clearwater’s capabilities in complex portfolio management across both public and private markets, including structured products, private credit, and derivatives. For years, institutional investors have faced a tradeoff between advanced analytics and operational efficiency—navigating rigid legacy systems, endless manual processes, and disconnected data.
CRC Group acquired ARC Excess & Surplus, LLC, one of the nation's top five largest specialty wholesale insurance distributors. With more than $1 billion in annual premium and a nationally recognized reputation for excellence in management and professional liability, ARC adds significant scale and capabilities to CRC Group's growing platform. The acquisition meaningfully strengthens the combined company's ExecPro practice group.
Nexus Underwriting expanded its U.S. Professional Liability product offerings with the addition of Architects & Engineers Professional Liability. The new A&E product line further demonstrates Nexus’s commitment to growth within the Professional Liability space in the U.S.
Coalition launched its innovative Active Cyber Insurance in the Nordic region through its subsidiary, Coalition Insurance Solutions. Coalition’s offerings are available in Denmark as of May 1, 2025 and will become available in Sweden May 8, 2025.
Willms & Associates Insurance Agency has been named Rockford Mutual’s Agency of the Year for 2024. The agency was first affiliated with with Rockford Mutual on February 4, 1975. It received the award for outstanding growth and profitability.
Satellite Agency Network Group, Inc. celebrated the achievements of its top-performing member agencies with the 2025 SAN Awards of Excellence, recognizing performance during 2024. The awards were presented during SAN’s Annual Business Meeting & Conference, held on April 11, 2025, at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn.
American Institute of CPAs provided comments to the Department of Treasury and the IRS regarding the updating of instructions for Form 8971, Information Regarding Beneficiaries Acquiring Property from a Decedent. The agencies are currently considering updates to the form instructions for the final regulations issued on Sept. 16, 2024 (T.D. 9991).
World Insurance Associates LLC acquired the business of Christopher Williams Agency and Barrett Millard LLC of Pittsford, New York on January 1, 2025. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The Christopher Williams Agency began in 1961, and Barrett Millard was purchased in 2023. They provide insurance to individuals and businesses, and are well known in the Rochester area.
Trucordia has acquired the insurance business of Huffman Insurance, a respected provider of personal and commercial insurance solutions with offices across Virginia, including locations in Lexington, Staunton, and Covington.
