Driven by strong intra-regional travel in the U.S. and Europe, the insurance market for global vacationers is moving higher, according to a report by Research and Markets.

When compared to pre-pandemic levels, the data showed travel in the U.S., Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands spearheaded the industry’s resurgence, which is expected to reach roughly $49 billion in 2025 and over $86 billion by 2030.

“The tourism sector is expected to see a considerable increase in revenue generation,” Research and Markets said in the report. “People are traveling more after the pandemic as the lockdown and travel restrictions have created enthusiasm in people to go out after being inside for very long.”

While most travel insurance plans cover emergency medical bills when vacationing abroad, comprehensive policies typically include trip cancellation, lost luggage, aircraft delays, public liability and other costs. Travel insurance policies are usually available for both international tourists and domestic travelers.

Meanwhile, warmer weather on the horizon has travelers scheduling their summer vacations and nearly a third of U.S. families will take a beach vacation, according to the Family Travel Association.

Florida dominates the top 10 dangerous beaches for crime, drownings and shark attacks, data compiled by Everly Life showed, with Miami Beach, Jacksonville Beach, Fort Lauderdale, Miramar Beach, Panama City Beach, Ponce Inlet and New Smyrna Beach included in the list.

“Florida's position as a beach tourism hotspot comes with significant safety challenges,” said Meredith Bell, director of marketing at Everly Life.
“The state's warm waters and extensive coastline create ideal conditions for both recreational activities and potential hazards,” she added. “Simple steps like swimming near lifeguards, checking weather and surf conditions daily, securing valuables and learning about local marine life can significantly reduce risks. For families visiting beaches with children, constant supervision and teaching kids about potential dangers is essential.”
