PIA sent Congressional leaders a letter urging them to protect crop insurance from funding cuts in the fiscal year 2026 budget and appropriations process. In 2015, Congress cut $3 billion from the program, but PIA and its allies successfully pushed for a statutory reversal to the cuts. The 2021 budget request included an eight percent cut to the USDA, and crop insurance specifically would have been cut by $25 billion over the next decade.
Arizona Automobile Theft Authority reported that Arizona vehicle thefts decreased by 15% in 2024, marking a second straight year of decline. Current data compiled by the AATA’s Auto Crime Tracking database shows that Arizona had 17,010 vehicles reported stolen in 2024, nearly 3,000 fewer than the 20,006 reported stolen in the ACT database in 2023.
