The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given six luxury vehicles its Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ designations this year.

Luxury vehicles are often considered to be safer choices because they tend to be made with higher-quality materials and possess better safety technologies. Consumers also value luxury cars’ enhanced features.

In AutoPacific’s 2024 Future Attribute Demand Study, shoppers ranked their 10 most wanted features in a vehicle. The list included 163 features, from infotainment technologies to autonomous driving and safety tech.

Shoppers said the features they desire most are:

  1. Wireless charging pad for front-seat passengers: 44%
  2. Wireless charging pad for rear-seat passengers; 37%
  3. Heated and ventilated front seats: 37%
  4. Rain-sensing windshield wipers: 36%
  5. Moonroof: 35%
