The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has given six luxury vehicles its Top Safety Pick or Top Safety Pick+ designations this year.
Luxury vehicles are often considered to be safer choices because they tend to be made with higher-quality materials and possess better safety technologies. Consumers also value luxury cars’ enhanced features.
In AutoPacific’s 2024 Future Attribute Demand Study, shoppers ranked their 10 most wanted features in a vehicle. The list included 163 features, from infotainment technologies to autonomous driving and safety tech.
Shoppers said the features they desire most are:
- Wireless charging pad for front-seat passengers: 44%
- Wireless charging pad for rear-seat passengers; 37%
- Heated and ventilated front seats: 37%
- Rain-sensing windshield wipers: 36%
- Moonroof: 35%
- Driver profile settings: 35%
- Household 110-volt outlet: 34%
- Rear-seat sunshades: 33%
- Rear cross-traffic alert with automatic emergency braking: 32%
- Built-in air compressor: 31%
