Former Allstate deputy general counsel April Savoy has joined AAA Auto Club Enterprises as chief legal officer.

Costa Mesa, California-based AAA Auto Club Enterprises is a nonprofit made up of nine AAA clubs employing 14,000 people and serving more than 17 million members in 21 states.

At Allstate Savoy was deputy general counsel for two years. Earlier, she was a divisional general counsel for rail carrier Norfolk Southern, chief legal officer for property-and-casualty insurer Acceptance Insurance, associate general counsel of Nationwide Insurance and senior attorney at Safeco.

AAA Auto Club Enterprises dates to 1996, when Southern California's AAA club began an acquisition spree, scooping up clubs in Texas, New Mexico and elsewhere. It now has more than 300 branch locations and is the largest group of AAA clubs.

AAA clubs offer motorists a range of services, including roadside assistance, travel booking and auto insurance.

"I am looking forward to working with the dynamic teams in the Office of General Counsel and Public & Government Affairs Department to continue their mission of providing legendary service to members and improving traffic and transportation safety," Savoy said in a LinkedIn post announcing her move.

AAA Auto Club Enterprises hired Savoy after an extensive search conducted by Diversified Search Group, according to Sonya Olds Som, a veteran recruiter with Diversified.

It is unclear whom Savoy is replacing. AAA Auto Club Enterprises did not immediately respond to an inquiry from Law.com.
