CRC Group acquired W. Brown & Associates Property & Casualty, a California-based surplus lines broker and MGA. W. Brown operations include brokerage, P&C binding, and transportation binding. The addition of W. Brown will expand the CRC Binding franchise with a physical office in California for the first time. It continues the ongoing expansion of CRC Binding following the October acquisition of Specialty Risk Associates.
Temple University's Fox School of Business will host the "2020 Enterprise Risk Management Conference: ERM in an Age of Uncertainty and Disruption" in a virtual format on Thursday, Nov. 19, and Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020. The conference is free and open to the public and will focus on ERM implementation and operation while offering a deeper look at reputational risk management and the role of environment, social, and governance principles in managing risk. RIMS President Laura Langone presented Infosys with the 2020 Global Enterprise Risk Management Award of Distinction at the Society's virtual ERM Conference. The honor recognizes Infosys's "outstanding success in improving transformation outcomes, growing revenue, protecting margins, and strategic decision-making." Additionally, RIMS says the organization's reaction to the COVID-19 crisis "exemplified its ERM framework that ensured complete resilience during the pandemic disruption, seamless transition of 99% employees to remote working and uninterrupted service to customers."
Zurich is celebrating National Apprenticeship Week from Nov. 8–14 with a few events, including:
- Zurich Class of 2020 Apprentice Graduation: The third cohort in the Zurich Apprenticeship Program graduates Nov. 12 in a virtual ceremony. The Class of 2020 includes Zurich's first Cyber Apprentices and first Premium Audit apprentices.
- Zurich National Apprenticeship Week Summit: Zurich will host its second annual National Apprenticeship Week Summit on Nov. 13, in a virtual format. Those interested in attending can email robert.pullion@zurichna.com.
- Chicago Apprentice Network: During National Apprenticeship Week, the Chicago Apprentice Network will launch a website, chicagoapprenticenetwork.org, built and powered by apprentices from CAN member companies. The website will offer insights and guidelines on starting a program based on the experiences of the founders.
Lightico announced a $13 million investment led by Oxx, with participation from Capital One Ventures and Harmony Partners, to accelerate the adoption of its digital customer interaction platform, bringing its total amount raised to $27 million. Joining the round are previous Lightico investors, lool Ventures, Crescendo Venture Partners, Mangrove Capital Partners, and Spinach Angels.
Beazley expanded its offerings in Latin America with a suite of commercial reinsurance solutions. Beazley's health care liability offering is available in Chile and Colombia with products designed specifically for these markets by an experienced, global team of underwriters. Included is Beazley Virtual Care, which provides protection against risks associated with the provision of technology-enabled healthcare and wellness services.
