The COVID-19 era has forced agents to address fundamental questions regarding their businesses, such as the carriers they partner with and how to maintain and grow business in a challenging environment. From working from home to helping clients manage never-before-seen risks, agents have altered operations to navigate a new environment.

Recently, Nationwide surveyed a sample of 400 independent insurance agents to provide an understanding of their experiences as a result of COVID-19 and its impact on their business.

Nationwide's findings highlight how agents have adapted to the "new normal" of business and reveal the concerns they must address during the pandemic.

"COVID-19 has dynamically changed the way industries across the globe operate," Jeff Rommel, senior vice president, P&C sales and distribution for Nationwide, said in a release. "In addition to the challenges independent agents face in their new work environments, they're adjusting to shifting customer needs, growing their businesses, and providing competent counsel amidst continued uncertainty."
