People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: May 8, 2020

Ascot appointed Jonathan M. Zaffino as group president. He served as president and CEO of Everest Insurance and executive vice president of Everest Re Group Ltd. CFC appointed Shannon Groeber to the newly created role of executive vice president. She has worked with Marsh JLT Specialty, where she was cyber innovation leader. ClearPath Mutual Insurance Company announced the following appointments:

• Don Stoller - director of underwriting
• Bob Korsan - vice president of business development

Everest Re Group Ltd. announced the addition of Stephanie Merkel as vice president, marketing and communications. She previously worked at Chubb, where she served in a variety of senior marketing capacities within their North America operation. Burns & Wilcox announced that Laura McCormick joined as regional practice group leader, professional liability for the southern U.S. region. Prior to this, she served as senior vice president and national practice leader at MarketScout. Chubb Limited announced that Annmarie Hagan has been appointed vice president, Chubb Group and chief accounting officer. Hagan has served as chief financial officer for Cigna Corp. and chief operating officer and president of the specialty businesses at WellPoint Inc. Casualty Actuarial Society announced that Jennifer Naughton will become the organization's first chief learning officer, in addition to the following promotions:

• Elizabeth Murray - director of human resources
• Kate Niswander - director of marketing and communications
• Wesley Ross - director of IT
• Elizabeth Smith - director of publications
