Risk Placement Services (RPS) will give employees the opportunity to volunteer with a local charity on the extra day in 2020 instead of going to work Friday. (Photo: Shutterstock) In honor of Leap Year, Risk Placement Services (RPS) is encouraging its employees to volunteer with a local charity on the extra day calendared this year, Saturday, Feb. 29, and in exchange, giving volunteers the day off on Friday, Feb. 28.
"Leap Into Giving" is available to all 3,000 RPS employees across the United States, and are welcome to partake in a cause of their choosing, whether they volunteer with family and friends, or RPS co-workers at local organizations or through in-house charitable activities.
"Leap Into Giving is another way to elevate our volunteer efforts," Joel Cavaness, RPS president, said in a statement.
"We are confident our employees will take advantage of this extra day to support a cause of their choosing, demonstrating RPS's unwavering commitment to culture, social responsibility and working toward improving the industry."
Like many companies in the insurance industry, RPS says its corporate social responsibility efforts are a significant part of the company's brand and values. Its annual RPS fundraising challenge has raised tens of thousands of dollars for local nonprofits, including Ronald McDonald House, raising nearly $150,000 for the organization in the last few years.
