People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: Feb. 28, 2020

Topa Insurance Company announced that Kari Stern has joined the company as director of claims auditing & compliance. Most recently, she was senior claim manager at Tokio Marine. Leslie Emack has been elected president of the board of trustees of The Insurance Library. Emack is the senior vice president at Risk Strategies Company and has served on the Library's board since 2016. Cross Country Adjusting hired Alphonse Provo as vice president of field claims. In his role prior to joining Cross Country, he worked as vice president at Ideal Adjusting. Axel Theis, a member of the board of Allianz SE responsible for insurance in German-speaking countries and Central and Eastern Europe, is retiring, effective March 31, 2020. Klaus-Peter Röhler, currently chairman of the board of management of Allianz Deutschland AG and Allianz Versicherungs-AG, has been appointed by the supervisory board as his successor, effective April 1, 2020. The Certified Automotive Parts Association announced the election of six new members to its board of directors:

William A. Cooper has joined TigerRisk Partners LLC as managing director and head of capital advisory. Cooper joins TigerRisk from Lloyds Bank, where he was managing director of insurance and specialist finance. HawkSoft hired Jerry Fox as vice president of carrier relations. He spent 30 years as an independent agent while also leading initiatives for third-party vendors to improve agent and brokers workflows. Sean Traynor has been elected to AMERISAFE Inc.'s board of directors, effective March 1, 2020. Traynor is a general partner in the healthcare group of Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe. Distinguished Programs promoted Brandon Mercier to regional sales executive for the Southeastern region of the United States. He most recently served as a sales executive for Distinguished Programs Specialty division. Distinguished Programs also hired Erick Schmitt as the new regional sales executive for Texas and Oklahoma. Prior to joining Distinguished Programs, Schmitt spent more than two years at Markel Specialty as senior sales manager. Phil Fasano joined Splice Machine's board of directors. Fasano currently serves as CEO of Bay Advisors LLC, a strategic advisory firm he founded. International General Insurance Holdings Limited (IGI) named the full board of directors who will hold office upon closing of the previously announced business combination with Tiberius Acquisition Corp and its public market listing on the Nasdaq composite. Following the closing of the business combination, the board of directors of IGI's new Bermuda-based parent company will consist of seven members, four of whom will be independent directors:

Michael van der Straaten has been appointed CEO of QIC Global, the international specialty insurance and reinsurance subsidiary of Qatar Insurance Group, effective March 1, 2020. He will remain CEO of Qatar Re, a position he has held since January 2019. Worldwide Facilities announced that Brad Foote has joined the company as a senior vice president. Garrett Hanrahan has been appointed global head of aviation, Marsh JLT Specialty, effective April 15, 2020.
