People on the move in the P&C insurance industry: Jan. 24, 2020

QBE North America, an operating division of global insurer QBE Insurance Group Limited, appointed Christopher Castaldo chief financial officer. He has been with QBE for eight years, five of which were in the North America division where he served as a leader in both the FP&A and corporate development functions. Summer Jenkins has joined Cannasure Insurance Services as senior product development manager. Prior to joining Cannasure, Jenkins was senior program manager for commercial auto/cargo cannabis programs at CannGen Insurance Services LLC. FM Global appointed Gerry L. Alonso senior vice president, division manager of AFM, which specializes in insuring middle-market clients around the world. Alonso, currently FM Global's Eastern USA division manager, will assume his new role on Feb. 1, 2020. FM Global also named James R. Galloway executive vice president. He joined FM Global in 1986 as a loss prevention consultant and has held various positions in the company. Vanessa Camara has been promoted to vice president, operations at Appulate Inc. She was formerly Appulate's director of customer development. Distinguished Programs announced the following promotions:

• Mamadou Bah - regional sales executive
• Renée A. McFadden - vice president and regional sales executive in New Jersey and eastern Long Island, including Queens and Brooklyn

The Midwest Insurance Agency Alliance announced two new hires:

• Jamie Wright - regional vice president, Iowa
• Rebekah Siegfried - agency development field specialist, Iowa

The American Property Casualty Insurance Association announced the restructuring and expansion of its public affairs division:

• Tamra Johnson, Stephanie Polis and Sarah Revell each join the trade association as assistant vice president, public affairs in Washington, D.C.

Veruna announced the addition of Michael LaBella as the company's head of sales. Prior to joining Veruna, LaBella was the director of sales for Pegasystems. Jacqueline Quintal has been appointed managing director of Marsh's U.S. financial institutions practice. She most recently served as Aon's financial institutions' industry leader. Chubb appointed Suresh Krishnan chief operating officer for its accident and health business in the United States and Canada. Prior to this new position, he served as head of Europe's major accounts division. Jeanne Consiglio has been named vice president, Northeast region at PMA Companies. Consiglio joined PMA Companies in 2015 as territory marketing manager for New England. ClarionDoor added Jason Routson to its team as the company's new director of sales. Most recently, he was the senior director of sales for S&P Global Market Intelligence. Kent Spafford, Jay Krueger and Thomas Warsop III have joined One Call's board of directors. Spafford will continue to serve as a full-time advisor to the company and will have the title of vice-chairman. Krueger and Warsop are both newly appointed as an independent member of the board. Acentria Insurance has announced the following promotions:

• Kendall McEachern - chairman of the board of directors
• Kevin Mason - CEO
• Mary Lawless - president, in addition to continuing to serve as chief operations officer

Catapult Insurance Services announced the following additions to its executive team:

• Becky King - promoted to vice president of underwriting and product management
• Steve Fisher - joins Catapult as vice president of business development

Denise Pavlov has been promoted to senior vice president and chief operating officer at Topa Insurance Group. Pavlov joined the company in April 2018 as senior vice president and chief underwriting officer. Spot Pet Insurance announced that Cesar Millan has joined the company as chairman. As a world-renowned dog behaviorist, he is best known for his television show "The Dog Whisperer." Andrew Dean has been promoted to managing director at Burns & Wilcox. He began his career with Burns & Wilcox more than 16 years ago as a commercial insurance underwriter and most recently served as associate managing director prior to his promotion. Allianz Global Corporate & Specialty (AGCS) appointed Henning Haagen chief underwriting officer specialty and member of the board of management, effective March 1. Haagen is currently AGCS's regional head of specialty and also Northeast zone executive for North America, a role he has held since January 2017. Selective Insurance Company of America, a subsidiary of Selective Insurance Group Inc., announced the following appointments:

• Shadi Albert - executive vice president, insurance strategy and business development
• John Bresney - executive vice president, chief information officer
• Gordon Gaudet - executive vice president, chief innovation officer
• Brenda Hall - executive vice president, commercial lines chief operating officer
• Nathan Rugge - senior vice president, actuarial reserving
• Eva Gonzalez - vice president, product development for Mesa Underwriters Specialty Insurance Company, Selective's excess and surplus lines operation
• Amy Cusack - assistant vice president, innovation and strategy
• Robert England - assistant vice president, enterprise development services
• Linda Link - assistant vice president, underwriting quality assurance
• George Melvin - assistant vice president, claims operations and automation
• Steven Neal - assistant vice president, line of business manager

The Texas Department of Insurance Division of Workers' Compensation announced the following appointments:

• Kara Mace - deputy commissioner for the newly created legal services program
• Jessica Bergeman - Division of Workers' Compensation new prosecutor with the fraud unit
• Nick Canaday - special counsel for the Division of Workers' Compensation
